How to Celebrate National Dessert Day: 2 Must-Try Sweet Recipes

Although it was just a few days ago, we can always find a reason to celebrate National Dessert Day. OK, to be exact, people (and mostly Americans) tend to give sweets the deserved attention on 14th of October. So basically, it’s a day full of joy, sweetness (literally!) and no boundaries. Wanna note the holiday too? Keep reading to find out why and how! First of all, why wouldn’t we celebrate a dessert day and what’s wrong with it?! Imagine if you could forget about counting all the calories and fat content just for a day. How would you feel? Well, don’t lie to yourself, it’s gonna be great, for sure! Secondly, in case you made the right choice (and it’s to say “YES” to treats) you should know how do it properly. By making your own desserts, of course! All you have to do is pick your favorite product, search for a recipe and get down to work. It’s not that hard of a job, is it?! Today we offer you 2 must-try recipes you would fall in love with:
  1. Chocolate nut bars
Products: 2/3 cup chocolate spread 1 2/3 cup dark chocolate 1/3 cup almonds 1/3 cup hazelnuts chocolate nut bars Set the nuts into a large baking dish and bake for about 15 minutes at 180C°. Of course, here you can use walnuts or any other nuts that you like instead of hazelnuts. It’s all a matter of choice, after all. So, be sure to melt the dark chocolate using a water bath and mix it with the chocolate spread. After the nuts are already cool, crush them a bit (not too much, though) with a knife. Add them to the chocolate mixture and stir well. Then pour this choco temptation into a silicone or metal cake form with foil on the bottom. Refrigerate for a few hours, then cut into bars and serve. So tasty!
  1. Chocolate yoghurt cream
Products: 180ml milk 100g dark chocolate 500g yoghurt ½tsp vanilla extract Honey chocolate yoghurt cream Place the milk with half of the chopped dark chocolate over the hob. Cook at low heat until the chocolate dissolves into the milk and you end up with a nice, homogenous mixture. After that add the vanilla and some honey by taste. Let this cool down for a few minutes. Then, take a bowl and put the yoghurt plus the chocolate mixture. Stir until well combined and place into small cups. On top, you might grate the other half of the chocolate for an extra pinch of love. You can also add fruits, whipped cream, nuts or whatever you like. If preparing desserts isn’t your thing, though, don’t be sorry. You can always stick to basic sweets that you’ve personally picked from the market!
