“Great” Olives Black Kalamon 500g
The Kalamon variety takes its name from the city of Kalamata, which is the capital of the prefecture of Messinia, despite the fact that only small part of the production takes place in this area nowadays.
Its shape is conical-cylindrical and it is curved in the top. The farmers pick these olives only after they have reached full maturity or in other words once the fruit has a deep black colour. For this reason the harvesting of this variety starts in November until December. The Kalamon variety is one of the best-known Greek olives around the globe and it is linked with the highest quality, which is reflected in its price.
