4 Healing Spices that You shouldn’t Miss – Part 2

Most people would say that “variety is the spice of life”. Is it really true? Or is the spice the variety of life?! The truth is herbs and spices are super important not only for how the food would taste, but also for our health status. In our prior blog post about the healing spices we learnt about some of the most common and yet extra healthy herbs we could use in the kitchen.   1. Oregano
OK, we know you would instantly think: “Hey, oregano is my favorite! How dare you say it isn’t famous?!”. However, there are many people who are still not familiar with this green plant. Actually, we’d say there are plenty of reasons for everyone to season their meals with a pinch of oregano. The herb is said to be a great source of manganese, iron, fibers, vitamin E, omega-3 fatty acids and calcium. Also, did you know that oregano contains 4 times more antioxidants than berries? In case you’re turning your 50s you probably know that the phytoestrogens in sage can help relieve the hot flashes caused by climacterium.   1. Allspice
We don’t have enough words to describe this wonderful spice! It combines the tastes of cinnamon, clove, ginger and nutmeg. What a combo, right?! In fact, allspice is an irreplaceable product when it comes to sauces, meat marinades and others. Speaking of nutmeg, we can’t skip its uses as well. This spice is full of vitamins from the B group and lots of vital minerals like copper, zinc and iron.
