At one moment it’s
so hot you can barely stand those winter clothes you slipped on this morning, while at another it feels like you’re stuck in an Eskimo ice fishing shelter. This weather just wouldn’t stop surprising us!
Every time when it’s so fluky (no matter if it’s spring or autumn) colds and flus always come like
a self-invited guest.
Here’s
3 herbal teas you can brew at home to keep you healthy:
- Sage tea
Sage, or
salvia, can definitely be of use when you’re feeling sick during the rainy days. The herb is said to have
anti-inflammatory properties, but of course the list doesn’t end up just with that. Maybe
this article can throw some more light. OK, let’s get to the essence here. To brew yourself a sage tea you’ll need:
1 ½ cup of hot water
½ tsp sage, dried
½ tsp thyme, dried
lemon zest
Honey (optional)
Brew the herbs with the lemon zest in hot water for around 10 minutes. Then add the honey if you like it sweeter. Easy as that!
- Ginger tea
Ginger root is actually very famous today because of its wonderful health benefits. In case you’re not familiar with it, though, you might wanna know it has a very intense
bitter taste. Despite this, the tea is definitely worth it!
Products:
½ l water
3tbsp fresh ginger root, grated
5tbsp honey
4tbsp lemon juice
2tbsp peppermint
Boil the water and then add ginger and honey. Keep over the hob at low temperature for 10 more minutes. Then strain and add the lemon juice and the peppermint.
If you’re having a
bad cough, add some cinnamon.
- Lemon balm tea
It turns out balm isn’t good only for
autumn depression as we mentioned in our previous
article. Well, it could be quite beneficial against cold and flu as well!
Here’s how to make the tea:
Take 1 tablespoon of dried lemon balm and place it over the hob with a big cup of hot water. When the tea is ready add 1 tablespoon of
high-quality honey. Drink this tea at least three times per day after the meals until you feel better.
