A list of 7 Foods and their Best Herb & Spice Pairings

We’ve all heard (or asked) the question “What’s the secret recipe for this meal?” or “How did you manage to make it so tasty?” Here’s a clue: the secret behind every delicious food is the cooking method, the efforts and love you put when you’re in the kitchen. Despite the above mentioned facts, though, one should never forget that the right spices can make a meal beat any food critics’ opinion! There’s hardly any housewife who hasn’t wondered which spices go with what food. Let’s find out now, shall we?
  1. Bread
When you’re making homemade bread you might wanna use anise, basil, cinnamon or fennel. The list doesn’t end up here! Cumin, cardamom, orange or lemon zest, oregano, sage, thyme or even saffron – any of these would be great.

For this type of meat we suggest: black pepper, oregano, fennel, cumin, curry, mustard, basil, bay leaves, chilli, coriander, parsley, rosemary, sage or tarragon.

You probably know that especially in Greece cheese is very much loved. Greeks like to combine cheese with all kinds of herbs. Here’s some of them: celery seeds, lemon zest, peppermint, mustard seeds, nutmeg, parsley, tarragon, thyme, black pepper, basil, cumin, chilli, oregano and so many more.
  1. Beans
Who doesn’t like beans?! They go very well with chilli peppers, oregano, parsley, thyme, mint or savory.
  1. Fruits
They are something we shouldn’t underestimate! The fact they’re just fruits doesn’t mean we can’t season them with herbs and spices.
