5 Tips on How to Improve your Baking Skills

- Use kitchen scales
When making a dough it’s very important to use the exact proportions from the recipe you chose. We wouldn’t suggest you to rely on cups, bowls or spoons for precise measurements in the kitchen. This especially applies for eyeballing, by the way! Digital kitchen scales are so affordable today and it will definitely come into use for all other dishes as well.
- Eggs – at room temperature
If you are a keen baker, you must be familiar with this simple rule. Actually, even if cooking isn’t your ‘everyday thing’, you might have stumbled upon such advice somewhere. In case you don’t have time to wait, put the eggs in hot water for 15 minutes and they’ll be ready to use.
- Use soft butter
When you’re cooking in a nonstick baking dish, you’ll have to grease additionally. There’s nothing bad about it, but make sure to use soft butter, not melted. If you melt it, its heat will most likely change the texture of your dough. What’s more, don’t get too far with the oil. You’re not aiming at frying, right?!
- Be careful with the grease
OK, let’s suppose your recipe requires you to use some kind of oil like sunflower or extra virgin. If so, make sure to add it gradually until the dough absorbs it all. Trust us, that might seem like an easy thing to skip, but it’s actually important for the results.
- Kneading is vital
