4 Myths about Carnivorousness that Vegetarians Won’t Like

To all vegetarians, please don’t judge! Today we are about to go deep into the carnivorous world and dig into some of the most common myths about eating meat. Healthy lifestyle is becoming more and more popular today. Things like bad cholesterol and too much fat in meat products have led to lots of concerns. This is why vegetarians can have some solid arguments against this type of food. However, this is not always the real truth…
  1. “Meat is full of saturated fats and cholesterol.”
It’s not a coincidence that we mentioned this in the very beginning! This is probably the most common myth when it comes to meat. From one point of view, this can result in bad health. From another point of view, though, cholesterol and saturated fats might not be that bad for you. According to specialists, cholesterol is one of the most important components in the human body. Haven’t you given a thought why would our liver than produce it? On the other hand, saturated fats are known to be responsible for the increase of the so called ‘good’ cholesterol. Of course, this can help in the prevention of insult and other fatal conditions.
  1. “Meat is bad for our bones.”
You will hardly ever hear your grandparents say this! However, most of the ‘new generation’ people think that meat consumption can lead to osteoporosis. According to this theory, in order for our body to compensate for the meat’s acidity, it takes the calcium out of the bones and neutralizes it. Short-term examinations actually confirm this theory. In long-term views, though, it turns out that protein is good for our bone system. So, it’s most likely that the lack of meat wouldn’t do any better to your bones!
  1. “Our organism doesn’t need meat.”
It is true that most nutritional elements are found not only in meat, but in many other animal products. Yes, we can live without meat, but this doesn’t mean that we have to. In case you don’t know it yet, meat can supply us with plenty of protein, creatine, vitamin B12 and many others. Were you even aware of the fact that there have been experiments with people who ate only meat for a whole year? Well, they are still alive. And healthy! low carb vs high protein diet
  1. “Red meat can cause cancer.”
It can, but only if you stick to highly manufactured meat that is full of additives and unhealthy ingredients. Of course, you also need to eat this and nothing else for a super long time in order for your body to start feeling the negative effects. However, when it comes to clean meat that hasn’t gone through such an invasive treatment, we wouldn’t dare say it can form cancerous cells. It’s all up to your own choices!
