- Start the day with warm lemon water!
Did you know that warm water on an empty stomach is able to “awaken” your metabolism? What’s more, it’s also thought to help eliminate the toxins from the body. If you like water and if you enjoy lemons, why not combine them?! The citrus fruit is probably one of the best vitamin sources you can get after the holidays. It’s said to detoxify, improve digestion and help burn more calories. Plus, it can alkalize the body and
‘fill’ it with lots of antioxidants. Of course, you should continue drinking clear water throughout the whole day as well! By the way, check
this article to learn more about the importance of drinking enough liquids.
- Stop fasting!
Lent is over so there’s
no need of fasting anymore. If you think giving up on food as a whole will help you lose weight faster, you are most likely wrong. Going short of nutrition means slowing down your metabolism, which even makes weight loss harder! In case you really want good results, though, you better chop on something 4 to 5 times a day, but
do it right. By ‘right’ we mean proteins, fruits, vegetables – not pastry, for example. Of course, you don’t need to go too far with supplying your organism with healthy foods. It’s all a matter of balance!
- Quit on carbs for the next three days!
Many of you probably know that overeating can lead to a significant energy loss. So, in order to get your power back you will need a healthy complex of carbohydrates. After all, the problem is that you most likely got too much carbs, but
the wrong ones! To get back to normal you will need to give up on those carbohydrates at least for the next three days or so. It means no pasta, no bread, no rice, no French fried or other starchy products. It’s no big deal, right?
- Detoxify the body with herbs!
It’s true that Easter is a holiday when we tend to eat a lot of pastry and other foods that are rich in sugar and fat. For most of us this may lead to water retention and bloating. Sounds unpleasant, huh!? Luckily, you can easily solve this issue by including the right herbs in your menu. Some of the best ones you can try are
yarrow, couch grass and dandelion. Just take a spoonful of any of these and put it in 500ml hot water. Boil for 10 minutes, strain and drink before each meal.
